The Church - Security in God's Purposes

Never futile is the work of the church, for it is a product not of the mind of man but of the sovereign grace of God" (William Hendriksen)

"Ever since God had a church of redeemed sinners on earth the future of her destiny has been brighter than her past history". (William S. Plumer)

Introducing Ourselves

We are ordinary people from all walks of life who share a common faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

As Christians we have discovered that the Bible is relevant not only for our daily lives, but also to the soul's deep need, for it is a message of forgiveness and renewal through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We also affirm the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith,

Baptists worldwide hold this Confession in high esteem and many, like ourselves regard it as their official Statement of Faith.

Our continuing church motto is "Reformata Semper Reformanda" (Reformed, Always Reforming).

Living, as we do, in a society that is always changing we believe that there is a need forthe church to be constantly reforming to the standards set in the Bible

As a result we are pleased to a signatory to Affirmation 2010. In view of the present violent opposition from the adversary of God and man, and the evident confusuion and grave depature from Biblical Truth in the professing Church, we are pleased to join with those who beleive that it is laid upon us to make solemn affirmation of the doctrine we seek firmly to beleive and strenuously to maintain. We are in full support of our former Pastor, David G. Farrow, who was one of the intial 25 signatories to the Affirmation.

Our Pastorate

Sadly at the end of 2013 our former pastor, Rev David G. Farrow retired from the pastorate of the church due to ongoing ill health, our thoughts and prayers go with David and his wife Christine at this time.

As a result our pastorate is currently vacant and we are prayerfully seeking the Lord's guidance as to his man to take us into the future. We remain ever grateful to the men who faithfully fill our pulpit each Lord's Day and who continue our mission of a sound and faithful bible based ministry.

Our Mission

Our purpose is to glorify God by worshipping Him in a reverent and meaningful way through hymns, prayers and the exposition of God's Word so that we may be built up in the faith, and be better equipped to share fellowship with others of like mind, and also reach out in love and concern to those outside the Church.

Our great desire is to share what we have discovered with others and to invite them to come along to one of our services and experience the joy and peace that Jesus Christ brings to our hearts.

Christianity is not a religion; it is a relationship, a living dynamic relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.

We want to share with others that within this relationship is found help and guidance with every need we have, be it material, physical, mental or spiritual, and that God deals with these needs through His Son, Jesus Christ.

"Every Word of God is Pure"
(Proverbs 30:5)

Why We Use the King James Version (AV) of the Bible

We use the King James 1611 Version of the Bible not because we are old fashioned, although that may be how some may see it, but because we believe that it is the only true English translation.

Modern versions come, and they go, the King James Version maintains its reputation as preserving the Hebrew Massoretic Text and the Greek Received Text. As a result, the A. V., as some people refer to it, presents us with a translation that is still unrivalled in its majestic style, simplicity, and power.

"Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear"
(Psalm 119:38)

Further Afield

We are pleased to be in partnership with the

Reformed Baptist Church
Irkutsk, Siberia, Russia

Pastor: Brother Sergey
Church was founded in 2001
Number of members 25
Basis of Faith grounded in the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith

In Russia the Union of Gospel Baptist Christians are totally Arminian, Sergey, along with some other pastors came to possess some Puritan books and as a result of reading and study he, along with others were "converted" to the Reformed Faith.

Until 2001 Sergey was pastor of a church with 134 members, but they were hostile to the changes he was seeking to bring about with regard to the basis of Faith of the church. As a result, Sergey left and planted his present church across the other side of the city.
